The criteria can be based on various parameters, including field values and record types, ownership of records, and more. Workflow rules can be configured to trigger action based on events involving notes in a particular module. For example, a company might configure the rule to execute when notes are added or modified, so that it’s easy for support teams to keep track of competitor mentions in emails and quickly respond.

Once a rule has been activated and the rule is activated, the action could be either an instant action or a scheduled one. Instant actions happen in the instant the rule is activated while scheduled actions are activated at later times and dates.

The scheduled action will be performed at the time and date configured. The action could be a task, email notification field update, webhook or function. You can also select any existing email notifications as well as tasks, field updates or webhooks that you want to associate with the planned action.
